Catalog Shopping Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ):

Q: Why do you have these catalogs online?
A: Although we stock thousands of boxes, we can't have them all!  The online catalogs offer our regular customers the opportunity to purchase any box offered by these importers.  They also help us gauge what box styles our customers would like for us to carry in stock.

Q: These pictures are not as nice as those of the boxes you stock.  Why?
A: We use the source material (catalogs, picture CDs) provided by the importers to develop the catalogs.  Since the source material varies in quality, we have little control over the catalog picture quality.

Q: Where can I see the maker's mark for a catalog box?
A: The pictures in the catalogs are all we have access to, unless it is a box that we stock. We don't have any additional views of boxes we don't stock.

Q: Where can I see the dimensions of a catalog box?
A: Again, we are limited to what the importer provides us.  Rochard provides one dimension (generally the longest dimension) for most of the boxes in their catalog.  Other catalogs do not specify the dimensions for their boxes;  therefore we cannot provide it unless it is a box that we stock.

Q: I love the Chamart Exclusives Limoges boxes.  Why is their catalog not online?
A: We love the Chamart boxes too. They offer a huge number of Limoges boxes but, unfortunately, they don't produce a catalog that covers their entire line.  The pictures they do provide are in "tableau" settings and are not appropriate for internet use.  We will continue to work with them on this.

Q: What about your other importers?
A: We hope to add additional catalogs whenever we can.

Q: I need a Limoges box for a gift in two days.  Which catalog can I use?
A: Don't set yourself up for disappointment!  Choose a box from our main selections, not from the catalogs.  Your best bet is to call us to check availability of your selection.

Q: What if the importer is out of stock of the box I ordered?
A: We will let you know as soon as we know.  Some importers are better than others in keeping us informed, but we will try to find out the status soon after we place our order.  If they are out of stock, we will give you the option to keep the order in place, or to cancel the order.  If you prefer to cancel, at your discretion we can email you to let you know when the box is back in stock.  We'll also let you know any estimates the importers give us on when the box will be restocked.

Q: I see what appears to be the same box in several catalogs and in your main store - and all at different prices.  Why?
A: Several importers buy from the same Limoges box artists and craftsmen in Limoges, France.  Sometimes the exact same box is offered by more than one importer;  sometimes painting details differ from one importer to the next.  Pricing varies significantly between different importers and their catalog reflects their price structure.  For boxes we stock, we price them relative to what we paid for them, not what their current catalog price may be.  Due to currency fluctuations of the dollar versus the Euro, Limoges box prices change often - mostly higher.  Generally this means our stocked boxes are less expensive than the catalog prices, but that's not always the case.  Check our main pages for a lower price option.

Q: I have a question that is not answered here.
A: Use the Contact Us page to ask us, and we'll answer as quickly as we can.
