Dubarry Sou-Chong Teapot Limoges Box

Dubarry has a terrific collection of Teapots, each painted with meticulous detail and packed with its own porcelain teabag tucked inside. What a nice touch! This one is called the Sou-chong Teapot and it is decorated with deep cinnamon on the spout, handle and trim. An inverted heart is painted on each side and an intricate network of fishnet provides a lovely background for a few springs of flowers on each side of the hearts. This very special Teapot also has a very special feature – a woman’s face graces the front of the teapot. Her delicate features lie at the base of the spout and it appears as if this Teapot has a Meerschaum Pipe on the front. The face is unglazed, making this incredible Teapot a spectacular work of art. The clasp is a flower blossom and, of course, the tiny teabag is hidden away inside. The box is marked Dubarry Peint Main, Limoges France and measures 1¾"h x 2"w.
