Fox Hunt Stein Limoges Box

This incredible stein is really a Limoges box, so please don’t drink out of it! (smile) The body of the stein is decorated with dimensional figures of a man on a horse engaged in a fox hunt. The speckled bird dog seems to think the fox might be in the hollow of the tree, but we know better! The fox is sitting on top of the lid enjoying a moment of peace! The lid opens up with a metal thumb rest in the shape of a shell and the clasp is a small feather. The box closes loosely to allow the lid to be opened via the thumb rest, just like a real stein. It is marked Peint Main, Limoges France and is signed by the artist. It measures 4"h x 2¾"w (including handle).
