Rochard Silver Skates Book Limoges Box

This box illustrates an old childhood story called Hans Brinker, also known as the Silver Skates. It was a story about a poor boy, Hans, and his sister, Gretel, and how they compete in a race to win the Silver Skates! Two books are stacked up, and the top one is open to a scene of a snowy winter day, with two children running down a hill. The Silver Skates rest on top, with a cream colored shoe and blades that look like silver. A pine tree is painted inside. The box is marked Rochard Peint Main, Limoges France and is signed by the artist. Approximate size is 2½ x 2½ x 2½ inches.
